The Emergency Unit is the department of a hospital responsible for the provision of medical and surgical care to patients arriving at the hospital in need of immediate care. Emergency Unit personnel may also respond to certain situations within the hospital such as cardiac arrests.
The Emergency Unit at Rondebosch Medical Centre is open 24-7.
The Unit is overseen by Dr Shiraaz Shaikjee, trained in Emergency Medicine and Anaesthesia, and is supported by a team of dedicated and experienced Doctors and Nurses.
